ME-L1075 : Mi Tienda: Rural Supply Network
Project Status: Closed
The objective of the Project is to create an efficient distribution chain for basic products in lowincome rural communities in the central-south region of Mexico as well as to increase the skills and capabilities of the small groceries stores (Mom-and-Pop stores) that sell basic products in these communities. Through this Project, Mi Tienda will promote the transformation of rural stores from a basic survival undertaking to a successful business endeavor which can become a true transformative asset for its owners and their families. This transformation is also a source of personal empowerment to store operators, most of whom are rural women with limited formal education. Moreover, the proposed Project seeks to improve the quality and decrease the cost of basic products and services.
