Advancing a Regional Centre of Policing Excellence in Jamaica

The objective of this project is to improve the institutional readiness of the National Police College of Jamaica (NPCJ) through accredited training, research, and technology-facilitated innovation, positioning it as the first Regional Centre of Policing Excellence in the Caribbean. By advancing quality standards of institutional excellence over a 3-year program of support, NPCJ will serve the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), local law enforcement agencies as well as those of the wider Caribbean to improve their training offerings to better address the dynamic security challenges facing the region such as transnational organized crime, domestic violence, and natural disasters. The specific objectives of this TC are to: (i) strengthen the administrative and governance mechanisms within NPCJ to ensure innovation and sustainability; and (ii) support the collaborative design and use of context-appropriate courses and learning resources.
