Review of the Tax System in Jamaica

The proposed technical assistance program will seek to determine whether the current tax system as a whole fairly and efficiently reaches all segments of the economy, now and in the future as the economy continues to evolve. It will examine ways in which the tax system affects individual and firm decisions. It will assess the revenue adequacy of the system, and will forecast the future performance of the current (and reformed) revenue system based upon expected changes in the structure of the economy and the population. It will analyze the feasibility and desirability of possible reforms to the system.
