Environmental Management Cajon Watershed
THIS IS A NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT PROJECT FOR THE RESERVOIR WATERSHED FOR THE EL CAJON HYDROELECTRIC POWER PLANT (8,600 KMS2; 315.000 INHABITANTS). IT AIMS TO CONTROL THE EROSION AND SEDIMENTATION PROCESSES AND IMPLEMENT CONSERVATION PRACTICES. IT INCLUDES COMPONENTS FOR AGROFORESTRY, FORESTRY MANAGEMENT, PROTECTED AREAS MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH. A TECHNICAL COOPERATION LOAN WILL FINANCE THE FORMULATION OF A NATIONAL WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PLAN.
