HO-L1229 : Water and sanitation services reform program in Central District II
Project Status: Implementation
The general objective of the programmatic series and of this second operation is to improve the quality and increase access to Water and Sanitation (WASH) services in the Central District (DC) through a process of reforms that make it possible to consolidate the municipalization of W&S services by improving sectoral governance and its management, in a context of Climate Change (CC) and conducive to water security. The specific objectives are: (i) to promote the operational and management development that allows increasing the efficiency in the provision of Water and Sanitation of the Municipal Unit of Drinking Water and Sanitation (APyS) (UMAPS); (ii) contribute to improving the financial sustainability of the services provided by the UMAPS; (iii) strengthen UMAPS planning; and (iv) strengthen the sectoral framework through better stewardship, regulation, resource management in a CC context, and provision to better meet the demand for services. This loan operation is the second of two operations, technically linked to each other, financed independently under the Programmatic Loan to Support Policy Reforms modality.
