Civic Coexistence and Neighborhood Improvement Program” and Complementary Non-reimbursable Investment Financing. Proposed Modification to Resolution DE-13/18
The general objective of the supplemental financing is tocontinue contributing to civic coexistence in Honduras throughenhanced police effectiveness and a reduction in theincidence of violent crime. The specific objectives are: (i) toreduce homicide and domestic violence rates byimplementing a Specialized Comprehensive Attention Module(MAIE) in Choluteca, for domestic violence prevention andvictim assistance in the Gulf of Fonseca region; (ii) to improvepolice effectiveness and help strengthen the police trainingsystem to train the supervisory and senior executive ranks ofthe Honduran National Police Force, through financing for aspecialized area to simulate police interventions andadministrative matters in the new physical and technologicalinfrastructure of the National Police Academy (ANAPO); and(iii) to implement a mentoring process for junior police officersgraduating from the Police Technical Institute (ITP). Theproceeds of this supplemental financing will be used tosupport Components 2 and 3 of Program 4518/BL-HO.
