The goal of the proposed program is to develop and implement, with the active participation of the informal recyclers at the Truitier dumpsite, a sustainable strategy to incorporate them in the new waste management and recycling arrangements at the landfill. More specifically, the goals are: (a) to support their inclusion into the city¿s new waste management and recycling system. (b) to develop income generation alternatives where this is not possible or desirable; and (c) to improve their health and safety conditions
