The objective of the CT/INTRA is to facilitate learning by police officers within the Guyana Police Force through dialogue with their counterparts in the Jamaica Constabulary Force, towards enhancing institutional responses of Caribbean law enforcement agencies to domestic and sexual violence. This capacity building exercise will develop a regional community of practice among senior law enforcement officers tasked with managing or overseeing the dedicated domestic and sexual violence units (DDSVUs). The expected result of this knowledge exchange workshop is a cadre of senior officers with enhanced competencies to: (i) diagnose the current strengths and weaknesses of their institutional responses to domestic and sexual violence; (ii) acquire and manage institutional resources to deliver a consistently high standard of specialised services for victims of said violence be they human, technological, or informational; and (iii) nurture a wider community of practice to address the root causes of domestic and sexual violence.
