Supporting Technical Training in Extractive Industries in Guyana

The objective of the project is to provide support for curricula development, course delivery, facilities upgrading and work placement that will promote technical skills-upgrading among a local labour force preparing to obtain employment and poverty reduction in the mineral-rich countries in the Caribbean. The project supports the development of a pilot case in Guyana, and provides for a scoping study to determine the feasibility (institutional, economic, financial and commercial) for regional collaboration on vocational training and work placement in the extractive industries in the Caribbean as a way of promoting regional employment and poverty reduction.
