Preparation of a Justice Sector Reform Program
To support the elaboration of a strategic plan of improvement of the Judiciary containing aspects such as structural changes to reduce backlog, transparency in the handling of cases, legal and regulatory reform, and a broad analysis of financial sustainability (minimizing fiscal impact). It is anticipated that this planning exercise would serve as a foundation for urgent immediate reforms that would also be supported by the TC in the following areas: (i) IT systems for case administration and administrative and financial administration of the courts, (ii) organization of archives and filing systems, which could improve transparency, and (iii) training for judges and prosecutors.
