ES-T1207 : Support for the Improvement of Public Expenditure Management and Institutional Strengthening of the Tax Administration

This Technical Cooperation (TC) aims to promote the development of the institutional framework of tax reform, by supporting the adoption of the necessary institutional arrangements to the improvement in public expenditure management and strengthening institutions responsible for tax and customs administration. El Salvador has presented a persistent fiscal deficit; and now the national debt is at a level close to 60% of GDP. The Government, in order to reduce the fiscal deficit and stabilize in the medium and long term public debt, has prompted efforts to strengthen public finances, reducing the pressure for increased public spending.
