Indutrialization, Technical Develpment y Commercialization of 'Panela' Industry
Consolidation of the production process of sugar-cane derivatives, through the implementation of a new molasses processing plant.
Specific objective: a) Support ACOPANELA through Technical assistance for the implementation of a new molasses production plant, for increasing quality and volume of products; b) Strengthening of ACOPANELA's managerial skills, related to the new plant: operating cost estimating, HACCP implementation, marketing, etc; c) Technical assistance for new product quality specifications; d) Develop a regulatory framework for the sector, that will help to improve competitiveness in the Salvadoran 'panela' industry; e) Strengthening association initiatives, involving women (mainly wives and daughters of the producers) in panela-related productive activities.
