ES-L1092 : Ciudad Mujer Phase II Supporting Women's Empowerment in the Context of the Plan

The general objective of the Ciudad Mujer project is to contribute to improving the living conditions of Salvadoran women through the facilitation of essential services offered or coordinated by comprehensive health care centers located strategically in the country, known as CCMs. The specific objectives are to: (i) strengthen actions to prevent violence against women and treat women who have experienced violence, in order to prevent violence and diminish the revictimization of affected women; (ii) promote the economic autonomy of women through training and employment opportunities that help improve their incomes; (iii) deliver comprehensive health care for women by providing quality sexual and reproductive health services, as well as other preventive health services that contribute to reducing maternal mortality and juvenile pregnancy; and (iv) provide information and education to communities in the vicinity of the CCMs, to promote women¿s human rights, increase knowledge, and change attitudes and behaviors. To be able to meet these objectives, childcare will be provided for children under 12 years of age while their mothers make use of CCM services.
