The program aims to support a reform of the electricity sector that El Salvador is developing under the guidelines of the National Energy Policy (NEP) 2010-2024. Specific objectives are to maintain a stable macroeconomic environment, the development of an appropriate institutional structure to take forward the implementation of the PEN, the diversification of the energy matrix and the promotion of private sector participation in generation of the private sector power generation and regional power integration.
