ES-L1047 : Fiscal Strengthening Program
Project Status: Closed
The objective of the present sector program is to help the Republic of El Salvador strengthen public finance and to protect funding for social programs that benefit low-income groups. The program is divided into five components: (i)macroeconomic stability; (ii) tax reform; (iii) more efficient tax and customs administration; (iv) reduction and targeting of subsidies; and (v) transparency in public finance and medium-term fiscal programming. The financing, estimated at US$200 million, will be disbursed in two tranches of US$100 million each.
