Incorporation of Climate Variables in Prioritization and Management of Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases

The general objective of this TC is to strengthen the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Public Health to incorporate climate variables into the prevention, prioritization, and management of Non-Communicable Chronic Diseases (NCDs) in Ecuador. The specific objectives are: (i) diagnose the relationship between climate variables and NCDs in Ecuador, establishing a baseline informed by climate projections; (ii) design strategic and operational tools that enable the integration of climate variables into health planning and decision-making processes related to NCDs; and (iii) build knowledge and capacities of the Ministry of Public Health to implement climate-informed and differentiated approaches to NCD management.
