Knowledge Exchange between Chile and Ecuador on the Criminal Defense Model of the Chilean Public Defender's Office

Understand the criminal defense model of Chile's Public Defender's Office (DPP), covering its organizational structure and governance, case management and technical defense model, litigation strategies and performance in hearings, physical infrastructure and support technology platforms, training and human talent development policies, and its quality measurement systems and key performance indicators (KPIs). Exchange experiences on institutional challenges and advances through the presentation of the management model and modernization vision of Ecuador's Public Defender's Office (DPE), in order to establish a comparative and constructive dialogue. Identify best practices, management models, and lessons learned that are transferable or adaptable to the Ecuadorian reality in order to strengthen its mission capabilities, including the perspective of front-line public defenders on their tools and daily challenges, and direct observation of the application of oral litigation techniques in hearings.
