Support for Universal Access to Electricity in the Ecuadorian Amazon and Institutional Strengthening for a Just and Sustainable Energy Transition.

Support universal access to electricity services in the Ecuadorian Amazon and strengthen institutions to advance a just and sustainable energy transition. The specific objectives are: (i) to finance feasibility studies for rural electrification projects in isolated areas, including the integration of bioeconomy principles and the design of photovoltaic and storage systems; (ii) to evaluate and optimize existing rural electrical systems, promoting the transition from fossil fuels to solar energy and developing an improvement plan; (iii) to develop a comprehensive roadmap for the implementation of inclusive electrical systems, prioritizing gender equity and diversity; and (iv) to strengthen institutional and regulatory capacities, supporting the publication of sectoral statistics, the development of the Andean Short-Term Electricity Market (MAERCP), and the implementation of gender strategies in the sector.
