Mainstreaming Gender in Ecuador Country Strategy
The general objective of the TC is to provide technical support to facilitate the inclusion of gender-specific priorities into the 2006 Bank's Country Strategy in Ecuador. It is expected that attention to gender criteria is strengthened in the social sector, and expanded beyond it to be incorporated as a crosscutting issue into non-social sectors. Specific objectives are: i) evaluate the inclusion of the gender perspective into the COF/CEC lending and non-lending operations, and into social and non-social sectors; ii) document lessons learned from gender-focused COF/CEC financed projects, as an input to the Country Strategy; iii) present recommendations to the Country Strategy team on how to incorporate the gender perspective, promote gender equity, and improve women's status into all COF/CEC operations, including social and non-social sectors.
