Water and Sanitation Program for the Canton of Cuenca

The general objective is to promote the sustainability of the provision of water and sanitation services in the municipality of Cuenca, under a climate action and natural capital protection approach. The specific objectives are: (i) improve the resilience and reliability of the drinking water system in Cuenca, and contribute to the conservation of water sources; (ii) increase the coverage of drinking water and sewerage in rural areas of Cuenca; (iii) improve the efficiency and capacity of treatment and disposal of wastewater from the Ucubamba-Guangarcucho system; and (iv) improve the management of services provided by ETAPA EP, incorporating a focus on gender, diversity and climate change.
