DR-T1197 : Program to Strengthen the Tax Administration and Public Investment in Dominican Republic

The objective of this technical cooperation (TC) is to support the efforts of the Government of the Dominican Republic to achieve its fiscal consolidation through three channels. First, it is designed to support the General Directorate of Internal Revenues (DGII) in its efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity by incorporating good international practices and adopting advanced digital technologies to increase the operational efficiency that contributes to a better management of revenue collection. Second, this TC will support the efforts of the Ministry of Finance (MoF) to strengthen its capacity to revise, evaluate and measure fiscal risks of public investment projects and achieve better oversight of state-owned enterprises. Lastly, it will support the strengthening of the institutional capacity of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development (MEPyD) in the design of evaluation methodologies of value for money, cost-benefit analysis, public-private sector comparator, prioritization for the execution of public-private partnership and traditional public investment projects.
