Infrastructure and sustainability program of the electricity sector

The general objective of the program is to ensure, over the long term, that demand in the National Interconnected Electricity System (SENI) is met by strengthening the reliability and efficiency of the transmission and distribution systems, as well as the financial sustainability of the targeted subsidy. The specific objectives are: (i) to expand the transmission system's capacity to enable the connection of new renewable energy projects through private investment; (ii) to increase the capacity of the distribution infrastructure to meet demand and reduce losses, improving the utility's management to achieve greater efficiency; and (iii) to ensure that vulnerable households continue to access energy services at affordable rates
