Competitiveness Investment Program

The Program consists of an investment package designed to support competitiveness in the foreign trade, science and technology, and rural roads sectors. The general objective of the Program is to support Costa Rica's efforts to hasten and sustain its economic growth based on gains in its competitiveness. To this end, the Program will finance investments to help enhance the country's business environment and its competitiveness as it becomes increasingly integrated into the world economy. The Program includes three different projects in strategic sectors chosen for their ability to contribute competitiveness gains for Costa Rica: (i) a foreign trade project; (ii) a science and technology project; and (iii) a participatory rural roads rehabilitation project.
