The overall objective of the CCLIP is to contribute to mitigate the impacts of climate change, to sustainable economic growth and to promote regional integration through the Regional Electricity Market (MER). The specific objective of the First Loan is to increase the supply of electricity through renewable energy in the province of Guanacaste, by building geothermal generation power plants and additional transmission and distribution investments in Las Palias II and Borinquen I and II of 110 MW of installed capacity.
