Strengthening the Management and Monitoring of Climate Action
This TC aims to provide support to the Government of Costa Rica to achieve policy commitments under the Second Component (Climate management and monitoring) of PBP CR-L1142. In particular, this TC will support activities related to: (i) the development of climate change budget markers that allow the identification and monitoring of this type of expenditure in the national budget, as well as support for the development of guidelines and procedures for the use of these markers; (ii) the generation of guidelines and other tools to determine the alignment to the Decarbonization Plan (DP) of the projects submitted for registration in the National Public Investment System and facilitate their prioritization; (iii) generation of inputs to inform the National Strategic Plan to 2050 and its alignment to the DP; (iv) contribute to inform the reform of the Ministry of Public Works and Transportation (MOPT) based on the relevant responsibilities linked to the DP and the sectoral agreement to reduce emissions.
