This Technical Cooperation aims to secure the baselines and data infrastructure needed to rigorously evaluate the impact of Bogotá's Metro Line 1 on the built environment, firm dynamics, and neighborhood composition, and, where credible comparisons can be established, to generate early causal evidence on corridor transformation during the anticipation and construction phases, along with ex-ante welfare predictions from a quantitative spatial model. This TC seeks to enhance the understanding of how large-scale rail investments transform cities, informing future urban transport projects across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC).
