Support to Colombia in the Construction of a Modern Governance of Public Security for the Post-Conflict Stage

The objective of this technical cooperation is to improve the institutional capacity of the Colombian national and municipal authorities, including the Colombian National Police, for the prevention and control of new manifestations of violence and crime in the post-conflict era, to support the increase in offer of services for the prevention of violence and crimes that affect citizens of different urban and rural environments in Colombia, especially those who are more vulnerable, the evaluation of them, and to seek the systematization and dissemination of shared experiences during the Citizen Security and Justice Week held in Colombia in November 2017. This objective will be achieved through: (i) the implementation of pilot programs for the prevention and treatment of violence and crime in urban and rural areas, which attend to the new post-conflict conditions; (ii) the evaluation of these experiences in coordination and support with specialized academic centers; and, (iii) the systematization, publication and dissemination of the experiences and best practices presented during the Citizen Security Week that took place in Colombia in November 2017.
