Support for the National Program to Ensure Sustainable and Efficient Energy Supply

The overall objective of this Technical Cooperation is to support the Government of Colombia (GoC) on the implementation of medium and long-term technical and institutional reforms to the Colombian Electricity Sector supported by the Program to Ensure Sustainable and Efficient Energy Supply. This programmatic operation was conceived in two phases to support the adoption of reforms that will ensure the sustainable and efficient supply of electricity in Colombia in order to i) reduce the vulnerability of the sector due to climate change by promoting the incorporation of non-conventional renewable energy to the electricity matrix; ii) the electrification of non-interconnected areas with non-conventional renewable energy; and iii) promote regional integration; and v) to strengthen the sector's institutional and regulatory framework.
