CO-T1347 : COMFAMA-Social Innovation Platform to Generate New Opportunities and Solutions

The objective of the Technical Cooperation is to foster the capacity building of Comfama with the generation and transformation of co-created social innovation (SI) solutions into scalable business models to address basic social and economic needs of the low-income Base of the Pyramid (BoP) population in the Department of Antioquia, Colombia. The objective will be supported through: i) the creation of a Social Innovation Platform (SIP) operated by the Caja de Compensación Familiar de Antioquia (non-profit Family Compensation Fund) or ¿Comfama¿ that will catalyze the participation of a multi-dimensional group of stakeholders (e.g. private companies, entrepreneurs, universities, policy leaders and communities) in the generation of community-based targeted SI solutions for the BoP; and ii) the transfer of the IDB¿s Opportunities for the Majority (OMJ) project structuring methodology that will equip Comfama with the tools to help ensure that the solutions generated by the SIP will become sustainable business models to reach the BoP with measurable social impact.
