CO-T1229 : National Plan for Freight Transport: NAMAs Pilot Study

The central goal of this technical cooperation is to build the planning and implementation capacity of the Ministry of Transport and the National Planning Department in Colombia, to structure National Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) in the Transportation Sector and more specifically in the field of freight transportation. This process will help foster sustainable freight logistics activities in Colombia and amongst national government agencies in the LAC region. The ancillary goals of this technical cooperation are to provide the IDB/ADB with a better understanding of how to link such a national level NAMA with the most appropriate support mechanism(s) in terms of financing, capacity building and technology; and to inform the dialogue on Post-2012 climate finance mechanisms within the SLoCaT partnership and international negotiations.
