CO-T1153 : Development of the potential for Carbon Finance in BANCOLDEX

The general objective of the present TC is to support Bancoldex so that the institution can effectively insert itself into the framework of climate change public policy in Colombia. The IDB is supporting the Government of Colombia with a series of climate change-oriented programs, including a Policy-Based Loan for Climate Change, the Clean Technology Fund, and Technical Cooperations with the National Planning Authority, the Finance and Environment ministries, and the Institute of Environmental Studies. The specific objective is for Bancoldex into a strategic ally within this process of inter-institutional coordination by making use of its ability to promote the structuring and financing of emissions reduction projects identified as being of primary importance to the country through its facilities for providing medium and long-term financing as well as the required technical assistance.
