Provision of Integral Assistance (Emphasis in Management) to Growing Fish Units

In the Guájaro lake, which is located in the Municipality of Repelón, a process of fish exploitation has been taking place. This activity mainly consists of breeding and selling a type of fish called Tipalia.
Up to this date, some difficulties concerning this activity have been identified, those are: low productivity level, modest levels of quality of the product and almost non-excitant commercialization channels. In order to make this a profitable business it is needed to re arrange the activities have been taken place and intervention processes with the objective of increase the quality of the product and develop their entrepreneurial endeavor.

General Objective

Strength and promote de development of a Social Organization which integrates the fish exploitation units localized in the Guájaro lake, through entrepreneurial

Specific Objectives

Create and develop a social organization that would integrate the 15 Tilapia productive units. This organization will play an important role in the production and commercialization of this product. Improve the quality of the product and register the productive process of the 15 units that will be part to the project.
Orientate and execute a culture of entrepreneurial endeavors within the beneficiaries. Apply the principals of administrative management to the whole production process.
Identify potential buyers that will demand the product on a daily basis, with the objective of guaranteeing a solid and constant demand. In addition to this some commercialization channels need to be structured.
Improve de logistic and operative infrastructure of the productive units, by providing them with equipment, tools, materials and supplies.
Create an entrepreneurial conscience within the population

Components and Activities

Component 1: Consultancy on promotion and conformation in an entrepreneurial organization that will integrate the 15 productive units.

Training in associative models
Legal consultancy
Entrepreneurial consultancy to the organization

Component 2: Technical assistance to the different stages of the production process

Component 3: Assistance and consultancy in administrative management to the production units that conform the organization

Component 4: Training and consultancy in product commercialization

Component 5: Intervention and motivation on entrepreneurial endeavor

Component 6: Provision of basic tools and equipment with the objective of improving the unit's productivity

Beneficiaries: 90 people that belong to the 15 exploitation units

Expected Results

Employment: 60 new permanent jobs
Once the productive cycle finishes, each beneficiary will gain an income that is going to be 75% higher than the over the Colombian Minimum Wage
Production: 3 Tons/Month
One new business created
15 small businesses will improve the quality of their products and services
One entrepreneurial association will be created and strengthened
A new social organization will be conformed and legalized.
The 15 productive units will improve their efficiency and quality in their productive process
The 15 productive units and the new organization will implement administrative and managerial processes
At the end of the project, 70% of the total sales would have been the result of new commercial linkages
