Community forestry as a bioeconomy strategy to reduce deforestation

The objective of this Investment Grant (IGR) operation is to develop pilot community-based sustainable forest management projects that contribute to local well-being and forest conservation through: (i) strengthening the technical and organizational capacities of forest initiatives to implement investments related to sustainable forest management; and (ii) implementing technological, logistical, and commercial models that make community-based forest management economically and operationally viable.
