Implementation of Sustainable Agroforestry Systems for Cocoa Plantations
Strengthen sustainable agricultural production systems for cocoa farms, which will reduce pressure on the expansion of the agricultural frontier and, in turn, generate income for small producers. The specific objectives of the project are: (i) to improve the cacao production model by introducing agroforestry systems in cacao plantations located in five departments of the country (Caquetá, Meta, Santander, Arauca, and Boyacá); and (ii) to provide agricultural extension services aimed at enhancing productivity, environmental sustainability, closing gender gaps, and strengthening the value chain to access differentiated markets that will improve the income of small producers.
