Support for the Operational Strategy to Improve Climate Resilience and Risk Management in Transport Infrastructure in Brazil (focus on the Amazon)

The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to contribute to improve the resilience of the Brazil transport infrastructure, with focus on the Amazon transport network, the national and subnational projects strategic to improve the resilience and redundance of the transport network and, the transport projects in execution and/or preparation with IDB resources.

The specific objectives are: (i) a pilot project to design a regional dynamic WRF model to improve the threat information necessary to contribute to develop the adaptive capacity and to reduce the vulnerability to climate risk to the Brazilian transport network; (ii) to develop tools that contribute to asses and reduce climate vulnerability of the Brazilian transport network, and improve institutional capacity, dialogue and coordination among decision makers in transport climate risk management in Brazil and; (iii) to develop a policy and technical roadmap for the development of the Amazonian transport network in Brazil, based on a set of standards of resilience, green infrastructure, and nature based solutions.
