This technical cooperation aims to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples (MPI) and the National Foundation for Indigenous Peoples (FUNAI), the agencies responsible for indigenous policy, in developing the Integrated Plan for Indigenous Well-Being for the peoples of the Amazon region. Its specific objectives are: i) to support actions for the implementation of the National Policy for Territorial and Environmental Management of Indigenous Lands (PNGATI) by monitoring the implementation of the Territorial and Environmental Management Plans (PGTA) of selected indigenous lands in the Amazon region; ii) to develop recommendations for supporting and promoting an agroecology-based economy and indigenous socio-biodiversity, as well as for supporting and promoting indigenous ecological restoration initiatives; and iii) to support processes related to the regularization of indigenous lands (TI), particularly the qualification of claims and the analysis of technical documents produced during the demarcation process.
