MMA institutional strengthening in support of Brazil's bioeconomy

The objective of this Technical Cooperation (TC) is to assist the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MMA) to strengthen Brazil's bioeconomy sector as an alternative to deforestation-based economic activities, supporting the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Deforestation on Brazilian Biomes (PPCD), especially in the Amazon region (PPCDAm). The TC aims to achieve this objective by: (i) enabling institutional strengthening within MMA; (ii) mainstreaming the Bioeconomy Plan into the Ecological Transition Plan delivered by the Ministry of Finance and (iii) promoting policy and financial solutions for bio businesses to thrive.
