Improving the management of business plans

The project¿s general objective is to contribute to territorial productive development in rural Brazil. The specific objective is to make small-scale rural producers more productive by refining a methodology to facilitate access to technical assistance for productive development.
Work will be done in the following areas: (i) strengthening producers and partners in order to increase their participation; (ii) incorporating a territorial, value-chain focus in the SRD business plans; and (iii) improving the management of
sustainable regional development plans, with a new mechanism that includes and encourages active participation by beneficiaries and local stakeholders.
Implementation of the proposed activities should enable the FBB to have enhanced management of the selected Sustainable Regional Development plans by
the end of the execution period. This enhanced management will be the result of
stronger participation by beneficiaries and local agents in the local management of
those plans. Secondly, the public and/or private agencies and institutions involved
in implementing the selected business plans will also benefit from the integration of
their activities, which will reduce redundancy and overlapping of economic development support interventions.
The project will be executed by Fundação Banco do Brasil (FBB), which will establish a Project Management Unit (PMU), linked directly to the Foundation¿s Diretoria de Desenvolvimento Social [Office of Social Development] (DIDES).
