Renewable Energy Integration Program for the Northeast of Brazil.

The general development objective for this operation is to strengthen the integration of Variable Renewable Energy (VRE) generation in the Northeast region of Brazil into the national integrated system, promoting private capital to decarbonize energy supply services. The specific development objectives include: (i) expanding the transfer capacity of the electrical energy networks in the Northeast region; (ii) increasing financing for the modernization of electrical energy network systems to promote greater flexibility of the Brazilian electrical system; and (iii) supporting the implementation of energy storage technologies.
