Decarbonize Pará: Policy Reform Project for Sustainable Development in the Amazon

The general objective is to contribute to the progressive transition of the State of Pará towards zero net emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) by 2050, benefiting the entire population of the State. The specific objectives are to strengthen: (i) the technical capacities of the State to improve the implementation of environmental and climate policies; (ii) sustainable land use through nature-based solutions for increasing forest cover, preserving forests and riparian areas, increasing agricultural production generated through low-carbon or carbon-fixing practices, and development of the Bioeconomy; (iii) fiscal and financial instruments for decarbonization; and (iv) the transversal development of gender and diversity policies for a decarbonized economy.
