BR-L1291 : ATE III Transmission Capacity Expansion Project

The Project will finance the upgrade of one of the transformer substation within the existing, IDB-funded, ATEIII transmission line system. The upgrade includes both the civil works as well as the assembly of a third transformer. This upgrade is part of a transmission expansion program mandated by the regulatory authority - Aneel - which will enhance the reliability of the system (grid) thereby providing better service to the communities that are linked. The Project will also enable the system to withstand the expected increase in energy demand in the region, avoiding potential outages and downtime.
