Impact Evaluation of Obstetric Nurses on Maternal and Neonatal Health in Bolivia

The overall objective of this Technical Cooperation is to generate experimental evidence regarding the causal impact of incorporating obstetric nurses into primary care on maternal and neonatal health in Bolivia, by: (i) estimating the effect of the Program 4612/BL BO intervention on maternal service utilization, perinatal outcomes, and maternal and neonatal mortality, leveraging a staggered randomized assignment methodology across 52 municipalities; and (ii) analyzing mechanisms, heterogeneity, and cost-effectiveness to inform the scaling up of the model in Bolivia and the design of similar operations in the region.
