Program for Strengthening the Social Protection System in Bolivia I

Objectives of the first individual operation under the CCLIP:To mitigate the negative effects caused by structural adjustments—such as the withdrawal of fuel and energy subsidies (SCE)—on households among the country's most vulnerable and poorest population, and to create a Social Registry (SR) that enables the efficient management of State resources aimed at poverty alleviation and the promotion of human capital in the poorest households.The specific objectives are: (i) To protect the purchasing power of the most vulnerable population/households against income shocks by ensuring the continuity of coverage of the Renta Dignidad cash transfer program; and (ii) To strengthen social protection targeting mechanisms.
