Blue Economy Investment and Financing Platform for Belize
The objective of this Technical Cooperation is to support Belize in strengthening the policy, institutional, and financial foundations required to operationalize a Sustainable Ocean Plan and advance innovative financing mechanisms for the blue economy and biodiversity conservation. Specifically, the TC seeks to: (i) strengthen the strategic and policy framework for integrated ocean governance; (ii) support MRV efforts related to blue economy and biodiversity outcomes; (iii) operationalize an outcomes-based finance framework for marine conservation and sustainable blue economy investments; and (iv) support preparation for future GEF STAR-9 financing opportunities.
