Design and Preparation of Sustainable Development Plan for the Caracol Region
The objective of this operation is to design and prepare a sustainable development plan for the entire Caracol Region, including a participatory ecosystem-based land use planning process, to prepare the area and local populations for the change that will come along with the rehabilitation of the Caracol road (BL-L1022) and ensure its sustainable development.

Strategic Objectives (CS 2013-2017): Increase overnight visitor demand and expenditures in a sustainable manner; Improve road infrastructure to facilitate trade and integration and access to emerging tourist destinations. Cross-cutting issue: Strengthen disaster risk management and climate resilience in all sectors.
