Integrated collaborative approaches for sustainable tourism (iCOAST)

The general development objective of the Program is to improve environmental conditions in Belize's tourism-intensive coastal areas. The specific development objectives are: (i) strengthen the policy frameworks governing solid waste management while enhancing institutional learning, strategic communications, and behavior-change; (ii) increase access to new financial instruments and incentives to stimulate the transition to sustainable tourism; and (iii) increase access and foster the adoption of innovative, resource-efficient, and context-appropriate solutions to manage the environmental footprint of Belize's key tourism destinations.
