Carving a Path Towards Impact: Key Factors for Effective Execution in The Bahamas

The objective is to carry out a deep dive on the actual and perceived main drivers of portfolio performance in The Bahamas. The operation aims at: (i) collecting detailed qualitative information on the main drivers of project execution and portfolio performance in The Bahamas, mapping them with quantitative information characterizing loan and TC portfolios, (ii) processing that information to obtain a clear picture of the relative importance of the main drivers, the channels through which they work, and the potential ways to improve the benefits of the positive ones and reduce the impact of the negative ones both, from the side of the counterpart was well as from the side of the Bank; (iii) using the findings to design interventions aligned to critical projects outputs in line to achieve the intended results, with clear actionables on the IDB and government sides in to be subsequently piloted in The Bahamas; (iv) obtaining a set of lessons learned to propose a replication and scaling-up strategy for other CCB countries or other countries that share similarities with the executing context in The Bahamas.
