Continuation of Support (SEFB) and Development of New Technologies: SG & RE

The objective of this TC is to provide continued support for the Sustainable Energy Framework for Barbados (SEFB), and for the development of new technologies, such as Smart Grids and other sustainable energy technologies that can further contribute to achieving SEFB goals. The specific objectives are: to (i) support further implementation of sustainable energy policy legislation; (ii) prepare technical studies that will contribute to the promotion of RE, EE, and EC and serve as input for the preparation of specific Bank operations in Barbados; (iii) implement the impact evaluation of the SEFB Program; (iv) design financial instruments to promote large scale deployment of RE and EE projects; and (v) study and design a Smart Grid deployment project with RE resources and grid energy storage, while analyzing its financial cost and benefit.
