Strengthening institutions in the mining sector in Argentina
The objective of the project is to strengthen the governance of the Argentine mining sector to optimize the sector's contribution to sustainable development. Within the framework of the national Green Productive Development program promoted by the National Ministry of Productive Development and in accordance with national efforts promoted through the National Mining Secretariat and the Federal Mining Council (COFEMIN), the project will support activities aimed at meeting three main goals: (i) strengthen the institutional capacities of public entities responsible for sectoral management at the national and provincial levels; (ii) improve procedures, processes, platforms and instruments for inter-institutional, inter-jurisdictional coordination and multi-stakeholder participation; and (iii) promote the dissemination and exchange of knowledge and information on best sectoral practices at the provincial, national and international levels.
