Support for the Targeting of Energy Subsidies with Protection for Vulnerable Households

The program's general objective is to safeguard energy consumption for vulnerable households, contributing to fiscal sustainability and the progressivity of the energy subsidy scheme. The project's specific objectives are to: (i) maintain the affordability of piped gas consumption for vulnerable households; (ii) help ensure the affordability of bottled gas consumption for vulnerable households; and (iii) strengthen the institutional capacities of the Secretariat of Energy and the Gas Regulatory Agency regarding the design, implementation, and monitoring of the new energy subsidy scheme.
